The Great Outdoors

Bluffer’s Beach

Nestled along the shores of Lake Ontario, the soft and sandy shores of Bluffer’s Beach stretch as far as the eye can see. Pack a picnic, play some beach volleyball, or indulge in paddleboarding or surfboarding – spending a sunny day at the Bluff’s will definitely be worth it!

Rouge Beach Park

With lush greenery, a meandering river, and a pristine beach, this park offers a serene escape from the city. Rouge’s highlights are the marshes and wetlands; you can even go fishing in the marsh! There’s a beautiful trail past the wetlands that continues West and joins the Highland Creek trail system where you can take your bike or go for a walk.

Doris McCarthy Trail

Named after the renowned Canadian artist Doris McCarthy, who found inspiration in its breathtaking landscapes, this trail is a true hidden gem. As you venture along the trail, you’ll be treated to captivating views of Lake Ontario, rugged cliffs, and a whole lot of green. This trail also passes through the majestic Bluffs and when you’re in Scarborough, you can’t miss them!

The Social Scene

The Guild Alive with Cultural Arts Festival

Coming to Guild Park & Gardens on July 27th and 28th, this outdoor festival features artists, artisan vendors, live performances, a beer garden, and activities for children too! And a final bonus, the admission is completely free.

Scarborough Afro-Carib Fest

Aimed at celebrating the African and Caribbean cultures, this festival has live music, art, dance performances, and cuisine from both cultures. This is another fun-filled free event in the neighbourhood, on August 24th and 25th.

The Scarborough Platter

Port Union Bakery

This hidden gem in Scarborough has freshly baked bread, buns, and a plethora of dessert options. They are also loved for their Filipino empanadas that come in different varieties like pork and chicken, and a special third – pineapple! We highly recommend ‘Asado’ which is a pocket filled with slightly sweet minced pork filling, it’s a treat for your taste buds.

Brett’s Ice Cream

What’s the scoop? Brett’s Ice Cream for sure! After a long day outdoors, this is the perfect spot to cool off. With a wide variety of flavours, and menu items such as smoothies, iced coffees, ice cream coffees, milkshakes, pints, and baked goods!
