There’s no shortage of great places to pick up groceries when you live on Cowdray Court. Big grocery stores such as Nick’s No Frills, Metro, Foody World, Highland Farms, and Colangelo Brothers Food Market are all located just minutes away. Of course, these are just the major players; there are countless local, independent grocers too, many of which specialize in specific cuisines and nationalities. Are you a fan of dining out? Even if picking up take-out or ordering in are more your speed, there’s a wide selection of tasty dining options in this neighbourhood. Some of our favourites include The Captain’s Boil, Orient Express, Chris Jerk, Gourmet Malaysia Restaurant, and Fishman Lobster Clubhouse Restaurant. With this many choices nearby, you can enjoy a different type of cuisine every time you venture out.
Public Libraries
Bookworms rejoice! Just up the road is the Agincourt branch of the Toronto Public Library, with shelves full of books, magazines, newspapers, movies, and audiobooks. It also has a computer learning centre and a digital innovation hub. Living on Cowdray Court you’re also quite close to the Scarborough Civic Centre branch of TPL. This is a gorgeous library with a KidsStop Early Literacy Centre, a reading garden, and a teen zone.
Golf Courses
Golfers will love that they don’t have to venture far to enjoy their favourite pastime. Tam O’Shanter Golf Course is just up the road so when the weather is good you can be on the links in a matter of minutes. To brush up on your strokes, head just a few minutes east to the Metro Golf Sportsplex, which is open year-round. Even in the coldest weather you can hit the indoor driving range, take lessons, or use their golfing simulator and stay in top form.
Community Centres
Neighbourhood community centres are natural gathering places; they offer tons of great fitness and arts programming options for area residents of all ages and they also draw people together for celebrations and events. On Cowdray Court, you’re close to three: The Agincourt Recreation Centre, the Stephen Leacock Seniors Community Centre and the L’Amoreaux Community Recreation Centre. Each offers an interesting mix of registered and drop-in programs.
